Philips 5400 and 5500, What the Documents Separate
A Philips leaflet was obtained for the EP5447/90 in the 5400 range. The declaration lists three model codes in the 5500 range and no leaflet for them was retrieved.
Philips 5400 and Philips 5500 are range names, and the documents identify machines by model code, such as EP5447/90 in the 5400 range.
The model codes
The EU Declaration of Conformity EDC 1008, DAP B.V., Drachten July 2026, lists EP5546, EP5547 and EP5549 in the 5500 range.
It lists no EP54xx code that text extraction could recover, although the document’s own filename asserts that the EP54xx range is covered. That is a limitation of reading the file and not evidence the declaration omits the range. The 5400 code cited below comes from a product leaflet instead.
Philips support pages list EP5447/90 and EP5447/94 as separate products, and EP5547/90 and EP5544/90 in the 5500 range. The suffix after the slash is the market variant.

Note the voltage. This leaflet documents a 230 V, 50 Hz machine. The EP3241/54 and EP1220/04 leaflets document 120 V, 60 Hz machines. A specification quoted without its full model code including the suffix is wrong for some market.
The feature claims, with their footnotes attached
The leaflet states 12 Beverages and 20,000 cups of finest coffee with durable ceramic grinders, and attaches footnotes to two of its headline figures.
The AquaClean claim reads Up to 5000 cups*** without descaling, and the footnote reads verbatim: Based on 8 filter replacements as indicated by the machine. Actual cups depends on selected coffee varieties, rinsing and cleaning patterns.
The figure describes eight filters in sequence rather than one cartridge. A second footnote, Based on 70-82 C, is attached to a temperature and aroma claim.
What this page does not state
No leaflet was retrieved for any 5500 machine, so no 5500 specification appears here.
The 5500 model codes are named above because the declaration names them. Their specifications are not quoted, because no document carrying them was obtained. Of eleven Philips document URLs requested on 13 August 2026, six returned HTTP 404.
What the interface difference looks like across the leaflets obtained
Across the three Philips leaflets retrieved, the user interface field reads TFT on the EP5447/90 and Touch screen display on both the EP3241/54 and the EP1220/04.
That is a documented difference between the machines whose leaflets were obtained. It is not a statement about the 5400 range against the 5500 range, because only one of those two ranges is represented in the documents on hand.
